Community Engagement & Patient Involvement

We provide high quality services in partnership with patients, carers and other stakeholders.  We believe that Engagement should take place at all levels; individually, with groups, through patient experience, organisationally and with the wider community.

Our work is underpinned by the principles of co-production. There is more information about this in the Community Engagement Framework and the Strategic Approach to Co-production which can be found in the policies’ section of the website.

The Trust has both a Community Engagement Panel and a Youth Board where members are actively involved in a range of projects and programmes. They attend regular meetings to discuss their work and to hear news on both Trust initiatives and those across the local Health & Care economy. Other people work virtually. Click on these links for information about both the Community Engagement Panel and the Youth Board.

Proposed changes to services are always informed by Engagement. This may take the form of a co-production event, a consultation, a survey or a focus group. Information on current service redesigns is always posted on the main website, together with details of how you can get involved and give your view.

The Trust also has many people working in a range of voluntary roles across its sites. These roles can range from helping with administration to gardening or working on the wards in our Community Hospitals. If you are interested in volunteering, please click on the ‘contact us’ or email kathryn.richards3@nhs.net.
