12 bedded in-patient recovery unit for patients experiencing enduring mental health problems within the secondary mental health services

Services provided

The unit provides 24 hour Nurse and Occupational Therapist led person centred care in a safe environment which encourages the development of daily living skills and fosters independence to achieve reintegration into the community or into supported accommodation. The services are backed up by members of the locality multidisciplinary teams and a Consultant Psychiatrist

Brief description of the service

Specific recovery services for the patient are medication management, psycho-social interventions and education including early warning signs and motivational difficulties, social skills training and vocational training opportunities

Client group

The patient group is male and female ages 17-65.

How the service is accessed

Referrals to the service are made from Acute Mental Health Admission Wards, Community Mental Health Teams, throughout Worcestershire. Patients are accepted following an ongoing assessment by the nurse manager, O.T, Consultant Psychiatrist and Nursing Team
