The Integrated Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (ICATS) for musculo-skeletal conditions has been set up by Worcestershire Health and Care Trust together with the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham to provide a community-based service tailored to the needs of orthopaedic patients in South Worcestershire.
We aim to provide a local service that will reduce the time you have to wait for an expert opinion. Our team of expert clinicians bring skills and expertise from all areas of the orthopaedic field.
When we receive your referral our team of experts will evaluate the information given to us by your GP. This will ensure that you are seen by the most appropriate clinician. Within 48 hours of receiving your referral we will contact you and book an appointment at a time and venue convenient for you.
Your first appointment
On arrival please report to reception and a member of staff will collect you.
Your initial appointment will be for a thorough assessment to determine how we can best help you. You may therefore be asked to undress to your underwear. Please bring a pair of shorts if you wish.

1) Referral to physiotherapy
2) Referral to Podiatry
3) Specialist advice / education
4) Joint / soft tissue injection
5) Further diagnostic investigations
6) Referral back to GP
7) Referral to hospital orthopaedic department
Should you require onward referral to an orthopaedic department you will be offered your choice of consultant as indicated on your initial referral form from your GP
Cancelled Appointments
If you fail to attend an appointment and do not contact us within 48 hours we will assume you no longer require treatment, you will be discharged and your GP informed

This service operates Monday to Friday from 9.00am until 5.00pm in venues across south Worcestershire with the availability of later appointments in some venues.
This is not a drop-in service, patients are seen by appointment only.
