CAMHS stands for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. This means we are working with Children and Young People that are having problems with their Mental Health. In our team we have Doctors (Psychiatrists) that are trained in working with Children with Mental Health problems. We also have;

  • Clinical Psychiatrists
  • Community Mental Health Nurses
  • CAMHS Social Workers
  • Community Support Workers
  • Child Psychotherapists

Children and young people aged 0 - 18.

Learning Disability (LD) CAMHS

The LD CAMHS team works with children and young people with moderate to profound learning disabilities who have mental health and/or complex behavioural needs. 

Information for Parents

The service is part of CAMHS and is accessed in the same way (see below).  Clinicians at the CAMHS Single Point of Access will assess which part of the service is likely to best meet a young person’s needs and may need to find out more information to help decide this. 

How the service is accessed

To access CAMHS any Professional working with your Child can contact CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA) to discuss their concerns regarding their Mental Health. They can also complete our Referral Form with your consent, which can be emailed to CAMHS.
