Community Children’s Nursing Service – ‘Orchard Service’

The Acute Community Children’s Nursing Team (Orchard Service) are experienced children’s trained nurses who visit acutely sick children in their own home.
The aim of the service is to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital and promote early discharge.
The team is made up of a Clinical Psychologist, Play Specialist, Social Worker and Family Support Worker.
The team work closely with GP’s, Children’s wards, Paediatricians, Health Visitors and School Health Nurses. They also communicate with other agencies if there is a need to. If you do not want the nurses to discuss your child’s care needs please inform the nurse.
