The Podiatry Service in Worcestershire provides triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and foot health education to patients with foot condition or a medical condition that affects the lower limb and foot. Having one of these conditions could result in a foot wound, ulcer, pain, infection or amputation.

We are a service that supports patients and encourages self-care where possible. Patients, carers and family members where indicated are actively encouraged and become involved in the development and delivery of treatment plans where appropriate.
Our focus in Podiatry is;
  • Protecting Limbs
  • Preserving Mobility
  • Promoting Self Management and Independence
by promoting  this we strive to maintain healthy feet and legs, managing  pain and assisting  in the  prevention of wounds and infection for a healthy lifestyle.

All Podiatrists are registered by the Health and Care Professions council (HCPC) who ensure that staff meet their standards for training, professional behaviour and health.

The service aims to provide high quality accessible foot health services for the people of Worcestershire.

  • High Risk Diabetic patients; patients with Diabetes who have identified 'risk factors' following full Diabetic Foot risk assessment.
  • For routine ongoing podiatry care, the priority is for patients who are most 'at risk' of developing serious complications of foot problems such as tissue breakdown, infection or ulceration, such as:
  • Patients with significant Peripheral Vascular Disease, advanced connective tissue disorders, Infected lesions, foot ulceration or history of foot ulceration, neurological disease affecting feet or lower limb, Patients with major foot deformities or foot pain.
  • The Podiatry Service also diagnoses and treats complex  biomechanical/ musculoskeletal lower limb problems causing pain and affecting daily living and function as short term care packages.

Working with our partners we have been looking at how we can improve our podiatry services for more information click here
