Progress in your physiotherapy career with a community rotational programme

Physiotherapist with patient supporting them to use exercise bands

Hi, I'm Daniel, Rotational Physiotherapist at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust.

After graduating from University, I felt that the best option for me to continue with my learning and increase my confidence as a Physiotherapist was to apply for a Rotational Physiotherapist role. Since starting in this role, I have experienced working in the community, inpatient rehabilitation, and MSK outpatient settings. These experiences have certainly widened my knowledge of the patients journey through the acute and community hospitals, which has given me a more holistic perspective on the patient’s care. Working within all these difference environments, with different teams has given me opportunities to observe and learn from many experienced practitioners to enhance my own assessment, treatment, and management of various patients and conditions.

My time spent within the rotational programme at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust has given me the opportunity to work autonomously, with the reassurance of having excellent support from senior colleagues available to me whenever required.

I have also been supported to grasp responsibility to assist with student placements, and conduct a service improvement audit, to enhance my skills and prepare me to take the next step of progressing my career.
