Apprenticeships

We want to build a skilled and talented workforce so we can achieve our goal of “working together for outstanding care.”

Apprenticeships are an important way for both new and current staff to learn and grow. If you are motivated and want to do a great job in your chosen area, we would love you to apply.

What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a job where you learn and earn at the same time.

You will:

  • Work and gain real experience
  • Learn new skills and knowledge with dedicated time to study
  • Get support from a mentor, tutor, and your manager

Most of your learning happens at work, with some extra study time away from your job. At the end, you will complete an assessment. If you pass, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification.

An apprenticeship at our Trust offers you:

  • The ability to earn while you learn – practical on the job training with off the job learning time allocated
  • Regular paid study time with a training provider
  • Mentoring and support throughout your apprenticeship
  • Paid annual leave
  • Nationally recognised apprenticeship standard / qualifications
  • Hands-on experience and transferable knowledge, skills and behaviours
  • Enhanced future job prospects.

An apprenticeship can open the door to a career within our Trust. When you have successfully completed your apprenticeship, we want you to stay with us and many of our apprentices have now gone on to secure permanent jobs either with us, other NHS or public sector bodies or have commenced further professional training.
