Nursing career pathway

If you are completely new to Healthcare, you can still apply for one of a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant or Healthcare Support Worker role, once you join the Trust, we will provide training to complete a Level 3 Care Certificate as a starting step into Nursing. 

If you hold a Level 3 Care Certificate along with experience in care, you will be eligible to apply for a Band 3 position as a Healthcare Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant. Once you have a year's experience with the Trust, we would encourage you to apply for our Registered Nursing Associate Apprenticeship. 

To progress into Nursing, you are able to start a Trainee Nursing Associate. A 2 year year foundation degree studied with the NMC will allow you to move onto a Nursing Associate Apprenticeship for one year. 

If you've completed a Registered Nursing Associate Apprenticeship, you can top up your degree to become a Registered Nurse at Band 5 level and commence your 1 year Preceptorship.
