Accessing your information digitally

Find out about SMS appointment reminders, the NHS App, accessing your health information online, and other digital services available to patients.

Text message appointment reminders

We are introducing a text message reminder service to help patients remember upcoming appointments and reduce non-attendance.

At the moment, reminders are only available for some teams and services. We will be making them available more widely over the coming months. Please check this page for updates.

Our services currently offering text message reminders are:

  • MSK Physiotherapy
  • Community Paediatrics Team
  • Podiatry
  • Health Visiting and Smoke Free Homes (from August 2026)

How to sign up

If you are a patient accessing the services above would would like to receive appointment reminder text messages, please speak to a member of the administration team within your service to provide your consent and confirm your contact details.

Patients who have given consent to be contacted by text message, either directly or through a nominated family member or carer (proxy access), will receive appointment reminders 72 hours and 24 hours before their scheduled appointment. This service acts as a reminder to you and does not replace your appointment letter or email.

Text messages will be sent from an account called 'NHSNoReply'

NHS App and accessing your information online

We are working with Patients Know Best (PKB) to provide our patients with access to their appointment and healthcare information online through our website and the NHS App.

We'll be sharing more information on this exciting project soon.
