Dental Treatment Charges
If you pay for your dental care, NHS charges still apply when you visit the Community Dental Service.
Dental treatment is allocated to one of three bands, when you arrive, you’ll be asked to show proof if you don’t have to pay.
If you are unable to show proof of exemption, then you will be provided with a bill after your visit.

Treatment Bands And Costs
Band 1:
Covers check-ups, advice, and preventative treatments like scaling and fluoride varnish. The current cost is £27.40
Band 2:
Includes all Band 1 services plus fillings and root canal treatment. The current cost is £75.30
Band 3:
Includes all Band 1 and 2 services, plus crowns, dentures, and bridges. The current cost is £326.70
Who can Claim free Dental Treatment?
You can get free NHS dental appointments and treatment if:
· You're aged under 18, or under 19 and in full-time education
· You're pregnant or have had a baby in the last 12 months
· You've had a stillbirth in the past 12 months
You can receive free NHS dental treatment if you are entitled to or are named on:
· Income Support
· Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
· Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
· Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
· Pension Credit Guarantee Credit with Savings Credit
· Universal Credit – but only if your income is below a certain amount
Low Income Support
ot all benefits entitle people to help with health costs. Patients can find out
if they’re entitled to free or reduced cost NHS dental treatment and help with
other NHS costs using the online eligibility checker at www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/checkIf you don’t qualify for free treatment but have a low income, you might get help with costs through the NHS Low Income Scheme.

Important! If you say you don’t have to pay but you’re not eligible, you could get a Penalty Charge Notice of up to £100, plus the cost of your treatment.
Claiming a Refund for NHS dental treatment
If you pay but later find out you were eligible for free or reduced-cost treatment, you might be able to get a refund.

How To Pay
You’ll be asked to pay after each visit, you will pay the Band 1 charge after your first check-up, any extra costs will be explained to you.
Payments can be made by debit, credit card, cash or cheque and we also accept payments over the telephone.
