Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams

Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams logoNew local Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams have launched in Herefordshire and Worcestershire as part of a national pilot to improve community mental health care.

The teams are made up of specialist mental health practitioners, GPs, and organisations in the voluntary and community sector who will work collaboratively to support people with complex mental health difficulties in the community.

The teams have been set up as part of a national pilot and cover all of Herefordshire and Malvern, Wyre Forest and ‘the rurals’ area of Worcestershire – Martley, Knightwick, Great Witley and Tenbury. Alongside the other pilot areas, the learning will be used to help transform mental health services across the country.

How to access support

Our service aim is to ensure that you are supported by the right person, in the right place, at the right time.

If you're experiencing mental health difficulties, you should contact your GP in the first instance. You might be asked to speak to someone online, or over the phone to help identify the most suitable service for you, or you may be invited in for an appointment to understand more about how you are feeling.

If you need support from a Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, your GP will support you to book a suitable appointment with your local team. If the Neighbourhood Mental Health Team isn't the best option for you, you will be advised on alternative services that can help which might include Herefordshire and Worcestershire Healthy Minds, who can support you to manage stress, anxiety and low mood.

How can the service support you

Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams work collaboratively to provide you with person-centered care that is unique to your individual needs.
