Our Quality and Safety Standards
At Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, the quality and safety of your care are our highest priorities. There are national and local standards, policies and procedures to ensure you have the best possible outcomes and experience.
We adhere to the NHS Constitution for our standards and waiting times. We are inspected and regulated by national organisations who ensure we provide services to expected levels and meet our commitments within the National Health Service. We also take very seriously the feedback we get from patients and visitors and respond to concerns when they arise.
Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES)
The Workforce Race Equality Standard is used to measure the current state of ‘race equality’ within health care organisations. Each NHS organisation must produce an annual report against 9 indicators on Race based on NHS national survey data and local workforce data.
The Standard is intended to provide impetus to ensure ‘equality’ and to encourage action to be taken to address inequalities where people may experience unfairness and discrimination within the health and care system. Its aim is to ensure Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff are treated fairly, their talents valued and developed, to identify and promote talented BAME staff and to help eliminate potential discrimination.
The focus is to improve the wider culture of the NHS for the benefit of all staff and the delivery of health care.
