General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on 25th May 2018 and replaced the Data Protection Act 1998. Although the UK has voted to leave the EU, the GDPR will still apply in the UK as the UK will still be an EU member on 25 May.
There are many similarities between GDPR and the Data Protection Act 1998, but the GDPR focuses more on the rights of individuals and the need for organisations to be able to demonstrate how they are meeting the requirements of the GDPR.
We are required to comply with the laws and regulations that apply to protecting your data and how it is used. These are the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
