New minor injury unit (MIU) set to open in Bromsgrove

A new Minor Injury Unit (MIU) at the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove will officially open its doors on Monday 6th October 2025.
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, which runs the service, has invested £1.6 million into the development of a modern, purpose-built facility aimed at improving patient experience and streamlining care delivery.
The town’s current unit will close over the weekend of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October to allow teams to relocate equipment and prepare the new space ahead of opening to patients on Monday.
Patients requiring treatment or advice for a minor injury during this time are encouraged to contact NHS 111, or visit one of Worcestershire’s alternative minor injury units, located in Evesham, Malvern, Kidderminster and Tenbury.
“We’re kindly asking patients from Bromsgrove and surrounding areas to contact NHS 111 if they need advice or treatment for a minor injury this weekend” said Dan Marshall, Modern Matron and Minor Injury Unit Lead.
“NHS 111 can provide expert guidance on the most appropriate service – whether that’s another MIU, a GP, pharmacy, or in some cases, an emergency department.
“It’s a simple as phoning 111, or using their online service accessed by visiting 111.nhs.uk”.
The new unit is expected to provide a more comfortable and seamless service for patients, improving their overall experience.
