Children's Therapy newsletter - Spring 2026
Take a look at the booklet version of this update: Children's therapies newsletter - Spring 2026
Here’s a quick look at what our teams have been working on since our last update:
Early years
- We have launched new Physio drop‑in clinics in Worcester city and Droitwich. We’re also looking at adding a Malvern clinic soon! See below for more details.
- We’re working with Early Years teams, Children’s Development Centres and Speech and Language Therapy to link in with existing groups they run.
- We were invited to support the Family Hub’s school readiness sessions during February half‑term.
School-age children
- We held a learning disability workshop at the end of February, and this was offered to 36 families.
- Our sensory motor waiting list has reduced significantly — from 300 children to just 3.
- We’ve launched a rolling programme of webinars for the families of children with sensory or physical difficulties, based on their needs rather than diagnosis.
- We have launched new Equipment Passports in special schools (e.g. for walkers, standing frames, specialist seating) - take a look!
- We plan to run a school age drop-in session in the summer holidays in Worcester - details to follow.
Physiotherapy drop-in sessions - for 0 to 5 years
We’ve expanded the locations of our physio drop-in sessions.
The sessions give parents and carers the chance to get advice about their child’s gross motor skills, such as moving, sitting, or walking without the need for a referral. We offer practical ideas to support your child’s development at home. If more help is needed, we may invite you back to another session or use the information gathered to support a referral.
