Our Quality and Safety Standards

At Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, the quality and safety of your care are our highest priorities. There are national and local standards, policies and procedures to ensure you have the best possible outcomes and experience.

We adhere to the NHS Constitution for our standards and waiting times. We are inspected and regulated by national organisations who ensure we provide services to expected levels and meet our commitments within the National Health Service. We also take very seriously the feedback we get from patients and visitors and respond to concerns when they arise.

MRSA Screening

As part of a new NHS initiative we will be starting to screen certain groups of service users for MRSA. The need for this will be based on the type of service they are accessing and whether they have a medical risk factor for infection. This screening is most likely to be undertaken as part of the admission process, it only takes a few minutes and does not hurt.

The Trust is compliant with this policy and to ensure that it is implemented monitoring of compliance will be undertaken. As part of this we will ensure that staff know how to respond and treat our service users when there is a positive result to ensure that the most appropriate treatment is prescribed.
