New posters and a dedicated website signposting mental health support for children and young people across both counties have been launched.

The posters highlight support available to help children and young people keep a healthy mind, and where to go for more help and support. This includes help provided by community groups, and online/text messaging services which can be accessed today.

The Trust has launched the new posters this week to coincide with the start of the summer holidays, a time when many children and young people may feel increasingly isolated from their friends and peers.

The posters are available to download and display from the new Childrens’ Mental Health website.

The Childrens’ Mental Health website has been designed by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust to provide a range of information and links for children, young people, families and professionals across both counties.

Elaine Cook-Tippins, CAMHS service manager said: “Throughout the design and launch of our new CAMHS website, young people have been at the forefront of our minds.

“The insight and feedback received from young people and service users was invaluable, giving a fresh perspective to the website’s development.”

The new site provides helpful information such as practical tips to support children and young people’s mental health, self-help resources, and information on local CAMHS NHS services.

Matthew Lammas, Locality Services Manager for Wellbeing and Emotional Support Teams in Schools (in CAMHS), said: “We wanted to create a tool that was easy for everyone to use, and we truly hope that children, young people and families like the new website and provide feedback, ensuring that we continue to provide the best care to our local communities.”

CAMHS is delivered by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, which provides mental health and learning disability services across both counties. It also runs community hospitals, nursing and therapy and other children’s services across Worcestershire.
