Trust wins Defence ERS Silver award

This week the Trust was awarded Silver in the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. The award recognises our support for the Armed Forces community, including reservists, veterans, cadets, and their families. It also builds upon the principles set out in the Armed Forces Covenant, which the Trust signed back in 2021.

Both Herefordshire and Worcestershire have strong connections to the armed forces and a large veteran community, so it is important that we recognise the specific needs of the community, and ensure that no-one with an armed forces background is disadvantaged when it comes to accessing care and treatment.

To uphold this commitment, we support our veteran patients and service users continuously and consciously, thereby cementing our status as a veteran aware organisation. Find out more about the support for armed forces on our website.

We also recognise the value and unique skills that serving personnel, reservists, and veterans can bring to our services, and so have adopted a range of ‘forces-friendly’ credentials to support prospective applicants, staff who are members of or are wishing to become members of the Armed Forces, as well as those who have previously served and their families.
