State of the art dental facility re-opens in Worcester
A refurbished community dental clinic in Worcester has officially re-opened.
Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, which provides community dental services across the county, has updated Moor Street to become a modern, purpose-built dental facility in Worcester city.
Moor Street clinic now boasts spacious dental consultation rooms featuring new specialist equipment such as hoists and adaptable chairs to enable people who use wheelchairs to easily access care.
The clinic is home to Worcestershire Community Dental Services who deliver consultant-led specialist dentistry to people of all ages with complex medical or mental health needs, learning disabilities or behavioural conditions, such as dental anxiety, which can make it difficult for the patient to attend a general dental practice.
Tracy Furlow, Clinical Service Manager for Worcestershire Community Dental Service said: “The Community Dental Service are very pleased the Trust has invested in this major refurbishment at Moor Street clinic in Worcester. It provides excellent clinical facilities for patients and staff, all hosted in a prime city centre location.”
Teams and patients will also benefit from modernised clinic and interview rooms.
Dr Claire Castle-Burrows, Clinical Director for the Community Dental Service said: “Community dental services play a key role in the delivery of vital dental care and wider oral health promotion for children and vulnerable adults, and this new facility will form the cornerstone of our county-wide consultant-led service.
This redesigned and fit-for-the-future clinic has the facilities we need to continue providing a patient-centred service that the population of Worcester and the wider county deserve.”
