The Trust successfully recruited 14 new staff in community nursing and healthcare assistant roles at their recent recruitment event.

In a span of just 3 hours, the applicants were screened and interviewed for roles in the Worcestershire-based Integrated Neighbourhood Nursing and Therapy Teams.

The new recruits will work alongside community nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and healthcare assistants to provide care to patients in the community.

Neighbourhood Teams are key in alleviating pressures on urgent care services by treating and caring for people in their homes, reducing the need for hospital admission and facilitating timely hospital discharge.

Deborah Handley, Acting Worcestershire Integrated Community Service Lead said, “We’re absolutely delighted to have recruited 14 skilled individuals into our neighbourhood teams. Together with their colleagues, they will play a crucial role in the prevention of hospital admission and helping to keep patients well at home.

“It’s an exciting time to join us, having recently launched a new 2-hour community response model which sees us working closely with colleagues in the ambulance service to support patients who need urgent care within their homes. This in turn also helps to reduce demand on ambulances and our local emergency departments.”

The recruitment event was one of many initiatives rolled out by the Trust in a bid to attract new talent in this competitive market.

John Bagnall, Associate Director of HR at the Trust said, “We hope that by opening our doors and letting people know a little more about our organisation, our values, and our culture, we can continue to attract such a high calibre of applicants.

“I highly encourage anyone who is looking for a new challenge, especially those who may not have considered a role in the NHS before, to have a look at our opportunities.”

“The NHS is such a broad organisation that it is always looking for people with different abilities and skillsets, so we’re always open to applications from people from all kinds of backgrounds and experiences”.
