Tenbury Minor Injury Unit (MIU) set to reopen

Tenbury Hospital exterior

Tenbury Minor Injury Unit (MIU) will re-open on a reduced timetable from next week ahead of a return to full opening arrangements later in September.

Due to unforeseen staffing absence and operational demands, the Unit based at Tenbury Community Hospital has been closed since 24th July 2021.

Since then the team have been working on a more sustainable solution and have now confirmed that the Unit will re-open 9am until 5pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only from next week (Monday 30th) until September 20th when it will then go back to its full opening hours of 9am until 5pm, 7 days a week.

The Trust runs minor injury units in Bromsgrove, Evesham, Malvern and Tenbury and over 16,000 people attended one of these services last year. In addition there is a unit situated at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre which is run by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Residents requiring treatment for a minor injury are advised to contact NHS111. Patients can use the NHS111 online service or call NHS111 to speak to a trained adviser who will assess their symptoms and direct them to the most suitable healthcare service for their need. If required, they will book an appointment to attend an MIU for treatment.

Patients can also walk-in to any of Worcestershire's Minor Injury Units. Please check locations and opening times prior to travelling.
