Who is your local healthcare hero?
Residents across Herefordshire and Worcestershire who have received care from NHS community and mental health services are invited to nominate their local healthcare hero for a prestigious award.
Last year, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust provided care to over 1 million people across the two counties, and are now calling on those patients, service users and their families to nominate teams or individual members of staff who have made an outstanding difference to their care or treatment in the past 12 months.
The Trust provides mental health and learning disability services across both counties. It is also runs community hospitals, minor injury units, community nursing/therapy teams, health visiting and other support for children and young people, as well as a range of other specialist care including dental and sexual health services across Worcestershire.
Each year staff come together in celebration of the achievements of their colleagues, their commitment to delivering the Trust values and the outstanding care they provide to patients across the two counties.
The Trust is inviting nominations from patients, service users, families, or carers for the Patient Choice Award 2023.
The award recognises staff who have gone above and beyond in their role to make a positive difference to the care of our patients over the past 12 months.
Sarah Dugan, Chief Executive of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, said: “The awards ceremony provides a valuable opportunity to celebrate the outstanding work that our staff and teams do, and recognise those who have gone the extra mile during the last 12 months.
“All the categories in our staff awards event are special, but to be nominated by patients, service users or families/carers is a wonderful reflection of the outstanding care delivered by our teams across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
“If someone involved in your care deserves stand out recognition, please complete a nomination and let us know about it.”
You can submit nominations for a staff member or team now via the nomination form on the Trust website. Entries close on Friday 21st July 2023.
The winners will be announced at the Trust’s annual Staff Awards event, due to take place in autumn.
